What is EMERGENTag?

A simple device to hold all your vital information in case of an emergency. More information about the product can be found on our Home page.

Will EMERGENTag run under Vista or Windows 7?

Yes! But you will have to turn User Account Control off from Control Panel, as it prevents one of the components from running. Once that's done, EMERGENTag runs even faster under Vista and Windows 7 than it does under Windows XP. EMERGENTag was designed with the evolution of Windows in mind.

In Vista or Windows 7, UAC (User Account Control) must be turned off the following way, even if you are already an Administrator:

Start (Windows Orb) | Control Panel | User Accounts, then select Turn User Account Control on or off, and un-check the box on the next screen, and click OK. You will have to reboot your computer for the change to take effect. Once your computer reboots, please plug your EMERGENTag back in, and it will work.

Do I need Internet access to use EMERGENTag?

No! The EMERGENTag runs entirely off the USB drive and does not require access to the internet to function at any time.

Does EMERGENTag require a subscription or any other fees?

No! There are no subscriptions required for EMERGENTag. There are also no monthly or yearly fees. The only purchase you will need to make is the one-time purchase of the product. And, of course, one for everyone in your family.

Can I configure EMERGENTag on a Mac?

EMERGENTag is not compatible with Mac computers, and for one very important reason - hospitals in the United States do not use Mac computers in their emergency rooms or other clinical areas. So, in order to accomodate the systems in ambulances and hospitals, our product is Windows compatible only.

Our Mac-user customers load their information into the EMERGENTag using the PC of a friend or family member, and only have to access a PC again if their information (e.g., medication list) changes.

Do I need any special software to run EMERGENTag?

No! The application is completely self-contained. Simply plug EMERGENTag into any computer running Windows.

I don't have a computer, so I entered my information on a computer at my local library. Is my personal information still on that computer?

No! Your information NEVER resides on any computer. It is completely self-contained on your EMERGENTag and nowhere else.

One of the reasons we developed EMERGENTag the way we did is because many people don't want their health information sitting on a computer somewhere that can be hacked into.

With EMERGENTag, you never have to worry about someone stealing or changing your vital information. It is completely safe.

My doctor changed two of my medications. Do I neeed to re-enter all of my information?

Absolutely not. Simply log in with the username and password you created when you entered your data the first time, and you will be able to add, change, or delete any of the information stored.

What is the warranty on EMERGENTag?

EMERGENTag comes with a one-year standard limited warranty against all product defects. If you have a problem with an EMERGENTag (there have been none reported), please call the Help Desk, or email us so we can authorize a return/exchange.

How do I know EMERGENTag will not give my computer a virus?

EMERGENTags are created on certified virus-free computers.
